OSHA 10 Hour Mandated Safety Training December 04, 2018

This is a 10 hour safety training course that satisfies the newly established law requiring all workers on prevailing rate jobs over $250,000.00 to have this class as mandated minimum training. The new law took effect July 18, 2008. It will provide the 10 hours of required training which includes an introduction to OSHAs health and safety standards for the construction industry. The program is tailored to first line supervisors, foreman and workers responsible for and involved in construction field operations. Participants will be instructed on the basics of understanding, interpreting and knowing how to use OSHA Construction Standards. Date: Tuesday, December 4th 11:30 AM to 5:00 PM Wednesday, December 5th 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM Cost: Instruction is free of charge, made possible by a grant from The NYS DOL Occupational Safety & Health Training & Education Program . OSHA 30 Hour Construction Safety Training January 08, 2019

This is an OSHA 30-hour safety training course. Completion cards will be issued to all participants who complete the thirty hours. This course also satisfies the newly established law requiring all workers on prevailing rate jobs over $250,000.00 to have at least an OSHA 10-hour card. OSHA Confined Space January 16, 2019

Upon completion of the course, students will understand how to evaluate and determine what hazards are present or likely to be present that could injure employees during confined space entries. These will include engulfment hazards, hazardous atmospheres, mechanical hazards and entrapment hazards. They will also learn to develop confined space entry and rescue procedures that identify the hazards of entering confined spaces in their workplace. Discussion will focus on the importance of rescue procedures while working in confined spaces and will help the audience evaluate the capabilities of their designated rescue team to respond to confined space emergencies. OSHA Fall Protection January 16, 2019

This course addresses OSHAs Fall Protection Standard, subpart M and will include definitions, scope and criteria for fall protection systems. Falls continue to be the number one cause of serious injury and death in construction. Employers need to educate and train employees to fulfill OSHAs requirements while accessing the need for fall protection and the abatement of hazards. This course is 4 hours in length and certificates will be issued upon completion. OSHA Cranes & Derricks Qualified Rigger Training January 21, 2019

The course encompasses both formal lecture and hands-on exercises to assist the students in the proper selection and use of lifting devices, as well as the various types of hitches and configurations to prevent unintentional load dis-placement. Students will be given practical and tabletop exercises consisting of load calculations, component selection and proper component use to demonstrate their application of the information learned. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics most recent data, 42% of the fatalities associated with crane use were a result of employees being struck by falling objects, primarily from the loads transported. This course is designed to discuss the use, care, maintenance, and in-spection of various below-the-hook lifting devices, including alloy-chain slings, wire-rope slings, nylon and synthetic web slings, clevis, eyebolts, hooks, hoist rings and wedge sockets. Students who successfully complete the course will receive a course completion certificate. OSHA Cranes & Derricks Qualified Signal Person January 22, 2019

This course will assist with compliance of OSHAs new Cranes and Derricks Standard. Statistics show that 25% of all crane fatalities are a result of contact with overhead electrical power lines. Of these fatalities, those at greatest risk are workers on foot, touching or guiding loads or cables. This course is designed for those individuals who will signal crane operators during lifting operations and ensure they are qualified. Individuals who complete this course will know and understand the type of signals used including radio signals and standard methods for hand signals; gain competence in the application of the type of signals used; acquire a basic understanding of equipment operation and limitations, including Crane dynamics involved in swinging and stopping loads and boom deflection from hoisting loads; know and understand the relevant requirements of OSHA Parts 1926.1419 through 1926.1422 and Part 1926.1428. Participants will be required to demon-strate their understanding of these requirements through both a written and practical exami-nation. Students who successfully complete the course and pass both examinations will receive a course completion card stating which types of signaling they are qualified in.
